About the Engraver:

Steve has been a hub & die cutter for over 40 years. He started his trade in the early 60’s, serving a 6 year apprenticeship while also attending 4 years at the Rhode Island School of Design.

 
 

As well as hub & die cutting, Steve is knowledgeable with all aspects of the tool room including, pattern cutting, pantograph, heat treating, plaster models, bench work, blanking & trim tools, the lost wax process, J.V. machine, and rubber negatives or positives. He has also managed the tool rooms for 2 of the top jewelry manufacturers in the United States. 

His skills have carried over into his hobbies of woodcarving, scrimshaw, hobo nickels, and cut-out coins. 

Steve is now semi-retired and working from home.
